NEWS UPDATE!!!! NAFDAC Arrests Five For Allegedly Selling Fake Cosmetics In Abuja

NAFDAC apprehended five individuals in Abuja for vending counterfeit cosmetics during a crackdown in the Garki and Wuse areas.
Mr. Embugushiki-Musa Godiya, NAFDAC’s Head of Investigation and Enforcement for the Federal Taskforce, disclosed that the suspects would undergo thorough investigation.
Emphasizing NAFDAC’s commitment to eradicating substandard goods, Godiya highlighted ongoing efforts to tackle the influx of fake cosmetics, some of which are illicitly imported despite border security measures.
He stressed the agency’s vigilance across all entry points, acknowledging the challenges posed by porous borders.
The seized cosmetics amounted to a market value of N35 million.NAFDAC vowed to prosecute the suspects following comprehensive investigations to ascertain their level of culpability.
